How to download Yahoo! mails into outlook (any email client) for free !!!

I have come across lot of discussion forums and Yahoo! Answers asking how to download the Yahoo! mails into their favorite email client and there were answers saying that it is a paid service from Yahoo! called Yahoo! Mail Plus and subscribe to that service. Yahoo! Mail Plus is a paid service and costs $19.99/year when I am writing this article.

There are lot of companies, institutions, showrooms, and agencies that use Yahoo! Mail for their official correspondence. Even I see big billboards advertising some local companies with Yahoo! Mail ID as their contact email. I surprise to see that 1% of the cost of that advertisement gives them official domain and email address for a year. Lack of knowledge about web domains and emails and fear about maintenance might be causing this.

Check out Godaddy.com. A .com domain costs $9 per year and you will get free email for your domain. In Indian rupees, it costs only Rs. 400 and even a small showroom can afford it.

Coming to the subject, there is a tiny application called YPOPs!, which emulates POP3 server and enables email client to download the emails from Yahoo!. It is an open source software, so costs nothing.

What is the need to download emails when we can browse it on the web?
There are lot of people having dial up connection for internet. By downloading the emails into an email client, you can read your emails without connecting to net. You can prepare all the emails in offline then connect to the internet and send all the mails in minutes without going to the Yahoo! web page. We can efficiently manage the emails and this way looks professional.

YPOPs! Website: http://www.ypopsemail.com/index.php

Download it here: http://dbeusee.home.comcast.net/ypops-win-0.8.6.2.exe
