Problems with image hosting services

By Admin  |  8/04/2006 02:35:00 PM No comments

I see lot of posts in blogs where images used in blog posts appear with their image hosting service ad stating that "Bandwidth exceeded, use thumbnails" and sometimes they show just the image hosting service site name. Some sites like ImageVenue put up a link to their site with lots of ads. There is a way to overcome this problem.

Use of free webspace services. Upload your images into them and link it from your blog posts. You will never see an image not showing up.

Google offers free webspace if you have Gmail account on Google Pages. Your site address will be “http://YourUserName.googlepages.com”. It offers 100 MB space for your pages and all the files. Uploading images is a “one click thing” in Google Page Creator. There is no need to tell the speed of the Google Pages. Also, you can use Picasaweb, another Google’s free service. It offers 250 MB free storage for your image files.

Yahoo! Geocities offers 15 MB free space. If you have Yahoo! email ID, then your account will be http://geocities.com/YourYahooID.

You can get a list of free web hosting providers here http://www.thefreecountry.com/webhosting/index.shtml

Use simple html tag img src="address of the file" within "<" "/>" to show the image in your post.
